When I first heard about Facebook Live, I never imagined I’d soon consider it to be an invaluable way to connect with my audience. Granted, I’ve only worked up the courage to use this new tool in one of my multiple businesses, but so far my experience has been nothing but positive!
Yes, I still get nervous every time I broadcast live for everyone to see my best and worst qualities in real time – but that’s just it! This platform is actually meant to humanize you! Though being so real and vulnerable takes some getting used to, Facebook Live allows our customers and blog readers to see us as we truly are – and that’s exactly what helps them come to know, like, and trust the person behind the blog or business. As you can imagine, this in turn helps to boost business and blog traffic as we become more relatable and likable to the audience we are seeking to serve.
Is Facebook Live for Your Business?
Facebook Live allows you to stream your own videos in real time. Live streaming has gotten to be very popular recently and for good reason. Since live videos are aired as they are recorded, you get to save the massive amount of time you otherwise would’ve spent obsessively editing and perfecting them! Amiright? With all of the attention it’s gotten, you may be wondering if you can use this new Facebook tool as part of your social media marketing strategy. Here are 5 tips on how to use Facebook live for marketing.
Use Live streaming to Show Off Your Expertise
If you are trying to build a reputation as a leading expert in your industry, you’re probably constantly looking for new ways to connect with your audience and gain credibility. No matter what industry you’re in, chances are there’s a way to do this through Facebook Live. If you’re a makeup artist, you can talk about some of the new makeup trends or techniques. If you own a bar, you can talk about the components of a great cocktail. Give people a reason to believe that your products or services are worth using!
Give Your Business a Personality
One of the main benefits of Facebook Live is that you can give a face to your blog and business. Allow people to see the real person behind the brand. Show them what you’re passionate about. If you donate your products to charity or if you offer any special services for a cause, share about it! Help your audience see the heart behind all that you do. Talk about your mission and purpose!
Take Your Audience Behind the Scenes
You can use live streaming to help people see what goes on behind the scenes at your business. If you own a pizza parlor, you can show people what the pizza prepping process is like. If you own a recording studio, you can show some footage of vocalists as they’re about to head into the studio. There are so many ways to show what’s going on behind the scenes. It all comes down to using some creativity!
Use Facebook Live for Interviews
Live streaming is a great way to host interviews on your Facebook page for your business. For example, you might consider hosting a discussion between you and your employees or other experts in your industry. Another option is to allow your followers to interview you! You can use live streaming to answer some of the commonly asked questions that you get about your business or blog.
Announce New Products or Services and Host Giveaways
If your business is releasing a new product or offering a new service, it’s important to get the word out! If you’re hosting any sort of contest or giveaway, you will also want people to know about it so that they can enter. Live streaming is a great way to get the word out, draw attention, and build excitement for all of these things. This is your opportunity to serve, connect, check-in, or update on any topic without spending a dime, all on your own time!
As you can see, there are so many different ways you can use Facebook Live to build your brand. Whether you use it to provide free classes, DIY demonstrations, interviews, or anything else your heart desires – live streaming can be a powerful marketing tool to help your customers come to know, like, and trust you on a deeper level. So tell us, have you tried out Facebook Live yet? What’s your favorite topic to share on?
